Dunsfold Land Rovers in Surrey, UK were introduced to me by Tom from ihana.com as being excellent, honest and extremely knowledgable mechanic's and suppliers of landy parts. This has certainly proved to be the case and they have looked after me & the landy extremely well.

The list of things that they have replaced is quite extensive now after owning the vehicle for 4 years and having done 70,000km in her, including 27,000km to Western Sahara and back. The list goes something like this:

- Major services and timing belt changed (twice, second time due to leaking of front oil seal)

- Brake servo replaced as the brakes wouldn't always work

- New clutch

- Recon gearbox

- Added disco bits into the transfer box

- Starter motor packed up, so was replaced. Then new one failed so replaced

- Fuel Injection pump packed up, so was replaced

- All bushes replaced several times. Might switch to poly bushes

- Front prop shaft replaced

- Viscous drive replaced

- Both batteries died so replaced both

- Front hub seals both replaced
- Fuel tank replaced due to leaks
- Hand brake fixed

- and a whole host of things like gaskets, seals, hoses, hinges  and lights

It was pretty much shagged when I bought it from the military auction and travelling to remote places in an old land rover banger I have tended to replace anything that seems to be playing up to reduce the risk of being left stranded.

...he loves me really

After Dunsfold had worked their magic I was able to complete a 27,000km test trip around Morocco & Western Sahara with barely a hitch.

...new fuel required

As I have no mechanical ability I arranged to stay around in the workshop whenever work was carried out and this proved invaluable for building up my mechanical knowledge. Many thanks to Bob my mechanic for putting up with me.

...and a new radiator

I also have a huge box of spares with anything still working being replaced by a new unit and then added into the spares box..

...spend enough & get a free pint

I would love to put in a new TDi engine but the cost means this isn't likely to happen for a while, and the existing engine is a good slugger if something of a slug on european motorways.
