...the real road

In my last few days in Figuig I had been wondering where to go next which involed a fair bit of looking at my map and reading my guidebooks to see what took my fancy.

Half the reason for having the landy was to be able to get off the beaten track a bit, to have a look at places not mentioned in the guideboks, so the small little village of Iche looked like my sort of place. It appeared to be down a single road that lead to the Algerian border just above Figuig. So after leaving Figuig I headed out towards Iche...

...typical scenery

It was quite a long haul over, well over 100km, but the scenery was stunning at times with plenty of interesting little tracks to explore. The road seemed to have only recently been sealed, with work crews working on a few bridges along the route.

...a tree

My fuel tank switch was leaking which was slightly worrying, but all it meant was that I shouldn't use one of my tanks, so no great drama. I was sure I could get it fixed somewhere along the line...
