Towards the end of the piste you pass through a set of villages, mostly clinging to the side of hills to avoid the occasional flood of water along the river bed.

At the end of the piste its a short hill climb and then a dramatic plunge down into the Almeln valley and the town of Tafroute. The houses are all painted earthly reds and pinks and there's a very different feel to the place from the desert regions.

When stopping to take the picture of some houses shown above, some girls rushed over and gave me this bunch of flowers. There were quite a few girls doing things like this, so assume it is a practice to help them to be lucky with love/marriage. Either way, I was quite chuffed with my present!
